In the first half of 2017, US trade with Afghanistan was $391.1 million, down 24.80% ($129.0 million) from the first half of 2016.

US exports to Afghanistan in the first half of 2017 were $382.3 million, down 24.37% ($123.2 million) from the first half of 2016.

US imports from Afghanistan in the first half of 2017 were $8.8 million, down 39.74% ($5.8 million) from the first half of 2016.

US trade surplus with Afghanistan in the first half of 2017 was $373.5 million, a 23.91% decrease ($117.4 million) over the first half of 2016.

Afghanistan was the US 100th largest trading partner in the first half of 2017 (down from 93rd in the first half of 2016), accounting for 0.0203% of US total trade (down from 0.0289% in the first half of 2016).
