In the first half of 2017, US trade with Australia totaled $17.1 billion, up 9.01% ($1.4 billion) from the first half of 2016.

US exports to Australia in the first half of 2017 totaled $12.1 billion, up 12.28% ($1.3 billion) from the first half of 2016.

US imports from Australia in the first half of 2017 totaled $5.0 billion, up 1.89% ($0.1 billion) from the first half of 2016.

US trade surplus with Australia in the first half of 2017 was $7.0 billion, a 21.12% increase ($1.2 billion) over the first half of 2016.

Australia was the US 24th largest trading partner in the first half of 2017 (just as in the first half of 2016), accounting for 0.8883% of US total trade (up from 0.8710% in the first half of 2016).

Australia was the US 16th largest export market in the first half of 2017 (up from 17th in the first half of 2016), accounting for 1.5933% of US total exports (up from 1.5111% in the first half of 2016).

Australia was the US 33rd largest supplier in the first half of 2017 (down from 31st in the first half of 2016), accounting for 0.4311% of US total imports (down from 0.4533% in the first half of 2016).
