US Trade with Bangladesh

In the 1st quarter of 2017, US trade with Bangladesh totaled $1,968.8 million, up 5.81% ($108.0 million) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US exports to Bangladesh in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $379.0 million, up 115.35% ($203.0 million) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US imports from Bangladesh in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $1,589.8 million, down 5.64% ($95.0 million) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US trade deficit with Bangladesh in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $1,210.8 million, a 19.75% decrease ($298.0 million) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Bangladesh was the US 50th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 48th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2099% of US total trade (down from 0.2127% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Bangladesh was the US 67th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 84th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1017% of US total exports (up from 0.0506% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Bangladesh was the US 41st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 35th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2811% of US total imports (down from 0.3194% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The major share of US exports to Bangladesh in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

The largest declines in US exports to Bangladesh in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
