US-China trade war escalates to a dangerous new level
US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan stated that US ready to use military power against China to secure its interests.
The US trade war against China has now escalated to a full-scale economic confrontation backed by the military might of American imperialism.
Speaking at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan delivered a 40-minute blast against Beijing in which he emphasised US readiness to use military power to secure its interests.
While claiming that the US “does not seek conflict,” Shanahan said “we know that having the capability to win wars is the best way to deter them.”
China warned students and academics on Monday about risks involved in studying in the United States amid a bitter trade war and other tensions between the two countries.
At stake is about $14 billion of economic activity, most of it tuition and other fees generated annually from the 360,000 Chinese who study in the US.
