In the 2nd quarter of 2017, US trade with France was $20.0 billion, down 1.79% ($0.4 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US exports to France in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $8.0 billion, down 2.54% ($0.2 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US imports from France in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $12.0 billion, down 1.28% ($0.2 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US trade deficit with France in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $4.0 billion, a 1.32% increase ($0.1 billion) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

France was the US 8th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.0291% of US total trade (down from 2.2020% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

France was the US 11th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 10th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.0776% of US total exports (down from 2.2556% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

France was the US 12th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 8th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.9981% of US total imports (down from 2.1674% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 16.33% of US total exports to France (14.36% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 9.61% of US total exports to France (8.16% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.69% of US total exports to France (3.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
