US Trade with Italy

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, US trade with Italy totaled $17.4 billion, up 8.04% ($1.3 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US exports to Italy in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $4.4 billion, up 4.42% ($0.2 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US imports from Italy in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $13.1 billion, up 9.31% ($1.1 billion) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

US trade deficit with Italy in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $8.7 billion, a 11.94% increase ($0.9 billion) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Italy was the US 10th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 12th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.7672% of US total trade (up from 1.7434% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Italy was the US 20th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.1369% of US total exports (down from 1.1520% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Italy was the US 8th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 9th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.1701% of US total imports (up from 2.1259% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The major share of US exports to Italy in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
