US Trade with Nigeria

In the first nine months of 2017, US trade with Nigeria totaled $6,480.1 million, up 43.16% ($1,953.5 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US exports to Nigeria in the first nine months of 2017 totaled $1,502.8 million, up 6.19% ($87.5 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US imports from Nigeria in the first nine months of 2017 totaled $4,977.4 million, up 59.97% ($1,866.0 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US trade deficit with Nigeria in the first nine months of 2017 was $3,474.6 million, a 104.85% increase ($1,778.5 million) over the first nine months of 2016.

Nigeria was the US 49th largest trading partner in the first nine months of 2017 (up from 56th in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.2226% of US total trade (up from 0.1727% in the first nine months of 2016).

Nigeria was the US 60th largest export market in the first nine months of 2017 (down from 58th in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.1320% of US total exports (down from 0.1338% in the first nine months of 2016).

Nigeria was the US 41st largest supplier in the first nine months of 2017 (up from 52nd in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.2807% of US total imports (up from 0.1991% in the first nine months of 2016).

The major share of US exports to Nigeria in the first nine months of 2017 (and in the first nine months of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
