In the first nine months of 2017, US trade with Costa Rica totaled $8,114.2 million, up 4.89% ($378.3 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US exports to Costa Rica in the first nine months of 2017 totaled $4,495.2 million, up 5.00% ($214.2 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US imports from Costa Rica in the first nine months of 2017 totaled $3,619.1 million, up 4.75% ($164.1 million) from the first nine months of 2016.

US trade surplus with Costa Rica in the first nine months of 2017 was $876.1 million, a 6.07% increase ($50.1 million) over the first nine months of 2016.

Costa Rica was the US 44th largest trading partner in the first nine months of 2017 (down from 42nd in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.2787% of US total trade (down from 0.2952% in the first nine months of 2016).

Costa Rica was the US 38th largest export market in the first nine months of 2017 (up from 39th in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.3948% of US total exports (down from 0.4048% in the first nine months of 2016).

Costa Rica was the US 48th largest supplier in the first nine months of 2017 (down from 47th in the first nine months of 2016), accounting for 0.2041% of US total imports (down from 0.2210% in the first nine months of 2016).
