In the 1st quarter of 2017, US trade with Germany totaled $40.9 billion, up 0.92% ($0.4 billion) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US exports to Germany in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $12.8 billion, up 4.84% ($0.6 billion) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US imports from Germany in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $28.1 billion, down 0.78% ($0.2 billion) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

US trade deficit with Germany in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $15.2 billion, a 5.06% decrease ($0.8 billion) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Germany was the US 5th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 4.3590% of US total trade (down from 4.6309% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Germany was the US 6th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 3.4437% of US total exports (down from 3.5210% in the 1st quarter of 2016).
