US exports to Japan in 2017 totaled $67.7 billion, up 7.00% ($4.4 billion) from 2016.

US imports from Japan in 2017 totaled $139.9 billion, up 3.39% ($4.6 billion) from 2016.

US trade deficit with Japan in 2017 was $72.2 billion, a 0.22% increase ($0.2 billion) over 2016.

Japan was the US 4th largest trading partner in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 5.2486% of US total trade (down from 5.3617% in 2016).

Japan was the US 4th largest export market in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 4.3784% of US total exports (up from 4.3534% in 2016).
