US Trade with Japan

In the 4th quarter of 2017, US trade with Japan totaled $54.2 billion, up 2.42% ($1.3 billion) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

US exports to Japan in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $17.8 billion, up 5.54% ($0.9 billion) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

US imports from Japan in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $36.4 billion, up 0.96% ($0.3 billion) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

US trade deficit with Japan in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $18.6 billion, a 3.07% decrease ($0.6 billion) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Japan was the US 4th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 5.1982% of US total trade (down from 5.5040% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Japan was the US 4th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 4.3732% of US total exports (down from 4.4587% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Japan was the US 4th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 5.7274% of US total imports (down from 6.1832% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
